I mentioned in a previous post how quickly the rocks and landscape change across Utah. The changes continue into Colorado as we get larger elevation changes, cooler temperatures and more greenery.

Our campsite is against the Animas River and there are trees and greenness seriously speckling the surrounding hills. It is quite a change from just an hour or two West.
