A cold wake-up

We had a good and busy day today. We had to get up early to be at Durango Rafting for a first-thing river rafting trip.

We went river rafting in the morning down the Animas River. Our guide told us the actual name is Rio de las Animas Perdidas, or the River of Lost Souls. Apparently many Spanish soldiers walked into the river with full armor on and sunk and drowned.

This was Tessa's first rafting adventure. This is Sarah Michael's fourth! SM discovered this on our RV trip last summer and she really likes it. This ride featured a couple class 3 rapids. The guide asked me if I wanted to try piloting the boat. It was hard work but he flattered me saying I did well. We were smiling when it was over.
